My Grip for 1/2/2013
Sorry this is so late but yesterday turned into a crazy day. We went to visit my son and his family only to find out that the elevator in his building was out. Five floors and several stops later we reached his place. What a trip. Then my loving husband came with pizza to hang out and he walked in. "Oh I rode the elevator up.. ' it figures they fixed it about an hour later. He was nice enough to spray the car with some air freshener and that triggered my asthma so the ride home and my time in bed today was due to not breathing so well.
Anyway that's not my grip for today. I go back to the lack of respect everyone seems to have lately. It ranges from children to seniors and I don't know why. I know for a fact that if I spoke to anyone the way some people talk to others I would have had a busted lip. We were raised to respect our elders and not to sass back to adults. I can't imagine how we got this out of whack. I remember that the sixties and seventies brought about the don't punish your kids syndrome. It was interesting to see children raised this way became drug addicts and violent towards others. I approached my children with a different attitude. I still commanded respect for others and punished them when they were really bad but I didn't try to fit them into any mold. I thought by letting them be themselves and just supporting them that they would find their own way. I find that alot of parents don't communicate with their kids and don't know anything about them. It's hard to talk to anyone but sometimes it's harder to talk to your own family because you fear what you'll hear.
That's all for today
